Just stumbled upon the newest gem on the island, and it's gelato heaven! ? This place just opened, and trust me, you’re going to want to check it out. Award winning gelato.? I was at their Grand Opening on Saturday & have been back multiple times - beautiful store, friendly staff, amazing selection of gelato flavors and sorbets, all made in the store with fresh ingredients. So many delicious flavors to choose from – perfect for a sunny day by the water! My favorite is the delicious vibrant dragonfruit sorbet and coconut sorbet.

I'm so glad there is an artisanal gelato on the island. There are so many delicious flavors; authentic, rich, and creamy. There are plenty of flavors for everybody, including sorbet (for guests that can't have dairy, it's dairy-free). I love the chocolate mint. It is so refreshing. I could taste real mint.
You have a choice of cup or cone (plain or dipped). Coffee, affogato, shakes, and floats are also available. There is something for everyone.
The staff is friendly and attentive. The store is cute and spotless. Come get yourself the best gelato in town.

Very cute gelato shop. Great selection of gelato, friendly staff and service. I got choc dipped banana in a cone and it was very banany with small chips of chocolate. Cone was crispy and fresh, great addition for creamy gelato flavor. Definitely be back again when visiting Balboa island.

If you're looking for a spot with creamy, authentic gelato, Gelatissimo Balboa Island is a must-visit. The flavors are rich and bold, from classic pistachio and award winning chocolate to unique seasonal twists that keep the menu exciting. The texture is smooth, perfectly balanced between creamy and refreshing. My favorites were Mango, Boysenberry and Dragonfruit! Staff are super friendly, happy to offer samples, and the portions are generous! The ambiance is cute & cozy, making it a great place to linger. Whether you're a traditionalist or adventurous with flavors, Gelatissimo on Balboa Island has something to please every palate.

We tried Gelatissimo for the first time in Honolulu, and we were so excited to hear there is a new location that opened up right around the corner on Balboa Island! It is a great location with friendly service. Our son loved the mango and the double chocolate. I'm a pistachio fan myself. The Gelato was very delicious! We will definitely return soon!

If you are in Orange County, this newly opened gem is right in the heart of Balboa Island and a must try for all! You walk into a beautiful, bright, lively store with happy colors and a super friendly staff greets you with samples. They were patient as I tried to figure out which of the gorgeous homemade flavors to choose. Some of my faves were espresso, dragon fruit lychee, lemon, mango, and stracciatella, but I'd have to say my very favorite was the award winning boysenberry swirl. It's perfection because it's not too sweet or too tart, but the perfect creamy combination of both. You can take a stroll through the adorable downtown and take in this spectacular location which is quintessential Southern California. The owners are opening another location soon at UCI Town Center! SO EXCITED!

5 Stars for Gellatissimo on Balboa Island! Walking in feels like taking a carefree summer trip to Italy, with bright orange and pink decor that creates such a fun vibe. Every flavor is a winner, but my personal favorite was the reduced fat chocolate—so rich and delicious! You can pick between dairy-free sorbet or more traditional gelato, all made in-house. The staff, from the owners to every worker, are incredibly welcoming and approachable. If you’re stopping by, don’t miss the exclusive Balboa chocolate banana flavor, only available at this location! Originally from Australia, I can already see it becoming a hit here thanks to its prime location, top-tier quality, and inviting interior. Highly recommend!

Gelatissimo is an absolute gem! Store decor is great and spotlessly clean. The customer service is fantastic—everyone is so friendly and welcoming, especially Parker, Sarah, and Rey. My favorite flavor has to be the Chocolate-Covered Strawberry; it’s rich and creamy with the perfect mix of chocolate and fresh strawberry taste (other favorites are Mango, and Dragon Fruit Lychee). If your in the mood for a float, the Orange Creamsicle is a delicious, refreshing and nostalgic treat. I highly recommend and encourage everyone to stop by for an incredible gelato experience!
