Very very good gelato and sorbet and would highly highly recommend. You can tell that it is high quality and that was the silkiest sorbet I have ever eaten. I got the passion fruit and mixed berries sorbet which were both phenomenal. A medium sized bowl with two flavors is only $6, which is a very good price when compared to other ice cream shops in the area. Overall highly recommend, very generous scoops and amazing selection and quality.

Kind service and killer gelato and espresso. It was a great place to visit while we were playing the music venue across the street. I got the Chico, a perfect amount if you’re not trying to send it into food coma land and go about the rest of your day. I love that you can pick 2 flavors even in the small size. I got coconut and the tiramisu. They were good on their own, but when they started mixing together, that’s when I really knew that I had made the right choices. I got an espresso as well!

Been to this location dozens of times and have always ordered the same amazing chocolate/strawberry shake - my absolute favorite. Today when I ordered, the new manager said that it was impossible and not allowed. When I asked why, I was told that it was because they use three scoops of ice cream and it would be impossible to measure half chocolate and half strawberry evenly. I was dubious about his, but said I’d gladly take one with 2 scoops of strawberry and one scoop of chocolate. She responded that would make it too hard to add the right amount of milk. I asked if it’s the same amount of ice cream (3 scoops), why wouldn’t it be the same amount of milk? She had no reply for this and simply reiterated that I couldn’t mix flavors (like I had done dozens of times before). So I opted to not get anything and just left very disappointed.

been coming here for the past year and the consistency of this place never fails to impress me. I was planning on taking a picture of my cone but got distracted and finished it all! they are very generous with the portions, as both the cones and cups of ice cream are huge ! the price is pretty typical for gelato. this time i got the seasonal flavor, coconut somoa, (basically the girl scout cookie with a coconut base) and it had the right balance of each flavor (and it’s not too coconutty!) some of my other favorites are cheese and honey, figs and cognac, and the chocolate. the staff is friendly and the inside is chill. my only complaint is samples cost money but that’s a very small gripe. honestly, you can’t go wrong here, this is our go to ice cream / gelato in evanston.

I’ve tried many gelato before and I would recommend this one. Though the Honey and cheese is a little bit sweet for me, I still like it.
If you like something light, I would recommend you try the wine and berries! I finish it in a few minutes. I just can’t resist the special flavor.
Best of all, the price is reasonable here.

Delicious and authentic Argentinian gelato.
My favorite combos are Tiramisu/Cheese and honey, Dulce de leche/Sambayon, Mascarpone/Coffee.

The dulce de leche alfalato is fantastic too!

Frio Gelato is a gem in Evanston! My wife and I loved it so much that we returned for a late-night walk and more gelato. The friendly staff and high-quality gelato made it a perfect experience. You know the gelato is good when it starts melting fast, which only added to its authenticity. The weather suited the occasion, making our visit even more enjoyable. Highly recommend for a sweet treat, especially late at night!

Wow. Ice cream is so tasty! I had mascarpone with raspberry swirl in a cone dipped in chocolate. Yummy! ? Definitely a must try!
