Our house caught fire Saturday September 7th. All of our contents are ruined, we cannot live in our home. We have hemorrhaged all our savings and have had no direct contact with the fair plan. This has been the most awful experience of my life. I thought the fact we were forced to have the fair plan and it’s incredibly expensive rates that they would take descent care of us. That has not been the case. All I was hoping for is some attention, funds to give us a roof over our head and purchase some necessities before their adjuster was able to come out.

Have 3 properties ins with them over 20yrs. They sent me a renewal bill Oct. 2024 due in 3 days! I paid it in full but a few days later they refunded me. I went to both offices, theyre closed! they dont answer phone and cant pay online. I think they are closing and wont renew but wont tell us. Went to AAA and they wont ins my rental condos. Waiting for my personal home but they may not cause I live within 1000 yards of a lrg empty lot 1 block away. Crazy.

Horrible forced insurance with ridiculous high prices. So disgusted with all these insurance companies claiming they are there for you but I'm all reality it's for themselves. And before I get a Bot response of BLAH BLAH it's mandated for every Californian to have insurance you can just stop. I could care less for a response...I might be waiting for hours anyways. I hope they cancel this ridiculous scam of an insurance pool.

If I could give this a negative star, I would!!! Sat on hold for an hour and a half before I finally gave up. We have been waiting for application approval for 3 months and can't seem to get any answers as to why!! this is BullSHIT!! Government ran entities are the worst, if you vote for single payer medical after having to deal with this then something is seriously wrong with you!!!!

They must have read my less than flattering review. I Got a call the day after I left this bad review and, wow, I finally got a quote for insurance. Only took 3 months and a bad google review to get it but hey, I got it! Buying a service should not be this difficult! I still firmly believe government ran; "ANYTHING" is a horrible alternative to free market unregulated capitalism!

I received the forms. CA unfair plan. The pricing is outrageous. The government or state must redistrict fire zones. Our property is clean .Give us a good choice of what to insure. The cost of this fair plan would wipe out both of our Social Security payments and put us on welfare.We would have to sell our farm and home.This is not a fair plan. Show me how 85 and 86 year old farmer's could come up with the amount of money they are asking for.Three times of what we were paying. We work a small farm. Wow! Many of our friends are having the same problems.

The California Fair Plan Is a terrible insurance company. My homeowner's insurance is impounded with my mortgage payment. My lender made the payment on time. California fair plan received the payment and deposited it the same day. Six days later they mailed a notice to my lender saying that I had insurance coverage. 7 days later they sent me a notice saying that I've been canceled for non-payment. My insurance broker received the same cancellation notice. Meanwhile, I do not have homeowner's insurance and California Fair Plan has the $5,280 premium payment. Thankfully my lender and my insurance broker are much better companies to work with. It seems like if I'm paying over $4,000 a year more for homeowners insurance compared to 2019 I should receive better service.
Note: expensive. Poor communication. Terrible service

- Does anything works in your system ?
- we dont get invoice on time to pay our premiums on time. receive invoice 2 days prior to due date.
- Very quick to send cancellation notice ignoring the fact that you have already cash the premium check.
- Its impossible to speak to someone to resolve/clear any issue in a timely manner, we have lives to live and is not dedicated to resolving california fair plan issues.
- Please dont response with your caned answers, fix the problems.

I seriously think you'd be better off letting your house burn to the ground and taking the loss than having to deal with this inept company. They will double bill you and make you spend your time on the phone tracking down their mistakes. Charge way too much, Do not have Auto Pay, Have terrible customer service, No payment grace period but also make paying them harder than breathing underwater. This is a BS solution to a serious crisis of insurance greed!

Go up
